I’ve prayed for years the same prayer over and over and over again: that God would show me love…. what it is… or just that it exists… anything.

I’ve realized little bits here and there that He has been answering it. Yesterday is no exception. I realized it yesterday, but guess what? I’m not perfect and I forget, and so I need the reminder… here’s one.

I have this family that’s made up of people that don’t share the same blood, but do share a really big place in my heart. It’s an honor to know… (yes… know) that i hold a place in their hearts too. Thank you Dan and Becca and Eric and Caroline and Molly and Pete and Victoria and Meghan and Kelsey and Ashley and Hannah and Kristen and Hailey and Megan and Paul and Caitlin and Irene and Aaron and Hsiang and Courtney and Ciana and Kristy and Candelaria and Jason. Thank you for being my family.

And there are no words to fully explain how much i need to say thank you Daniel Irvin, Rebecca Weygandt, Eric Traynor, Caroline Sterr, and Molly Molhoek for being such good people that you actually would be God’s hands and feet in my life and show me that there is more to life—and more to the “right” kinds of people— than the world has shown me. Thank you for being clear examples of what love is. Thank you for being so wonderful. I have a very hard time explaining it because I have never met people like you before. The fact that I didn’t even know any of you before 2 years ago is even more important for me to remember. I had to wait a very very very long time for me to meet people like you. I fought a lot of battles by myself. I faced a lot that I shouldn’t have had to. You guys are kind of like a reward. God may not have meant it that way… but I’m so intensely grateful that He at least planned this time I get to share with you. I won’t keep wasting it.
